Deep, sappy, brooding nose featuring black fruits, violet, minerals, and gun-metal. Large-scaled but elegant, with a captivating lightness of touch. Compelling inner-mouth perfume and persistence. A wine of considerable refinement and pronounced soil character. Delicious now.

Actual bottle from our inventory is pictured. These bottles are in excellent condition, from their original case and all fills are into the neck. All bottles are as good or better than the bottle pictured. Wine Advocate

Bordering on perfection, the 2004 Pinot Noir Bodega Headlands (from Kistler’s new vineyard planted on the Sonoma Coast) offers up sweet plum, forest floor, and violet scents along with a La Tache-like, ethereal, floral, and black raspberry-like character. This prodigious, deep ruby/purple-colored Pinot possesses fabulous concentration as well as a layered, multidimensional palate, wonderful fruit, sweet tannin, and good acidity. It should age beautifully for 10-12 years.

Score: 98. —Robert Parker, December 2005.
