The Dinner Vineyard has become known for the opulent, golden-hued, chardonnay we produce from its Old Wente clone vines. It is broad-shouldered, dense and viscous in the mouth with a unique, almost smoky quality on the finish. In the 2006 vintage, a spicy nose accompanies a luxuriant palate of fresh pear and ripe Fuji apple with nuanced accents of butterscotch and orange blossom. The finish unfolds effortlessly with notes of hazelnut, flint and crisp minerality that intermingle over a long, silky finish.

Actual bottle from our inventory is pictured. These bottles are in excellent condition, from their original case and all fills are into the neck. All bottles are as good or better than the bottle pictured.

Wine Advocate

The superb 2007 Chardonnay Richard Dinner Vineyard offers abundant notes of tropical fruits, mangoes, pineapples, orange marmalade, and subtle smoke in a rich, full-bodied, dense style displaying good acidity, fruit, and one of the signs I always look for in high quality Chardonnay, a greenish hue to its light yellow/gold color. This is a big wine that appears to have some tannin.

Score: 95. —Robert Parker, February 2010.

International Wine Cellar

($65) Yellow-gold. Deep, smoky aromas of poached pear, yellow apple, pit fruits and toasty lees. Weighty orchard fruit flavors are chewy in texture and firmed by a refreshingly bitter lemon pith quality. Showy and impressively expansive on the finish, which strongly echoes the pit fruit and smoky notes.

Score: 92. —Josh Raynolds, May 2009.
