Mon Plaisir is our flagship wine, which we have produced from the same vineyard since 1987. This small vineyard located in the hills above Alexander Valley reveals the distinctive and unique flavors of its birthplace. The hillside exposure, soil, and grape clone each contribute to the wine's complexity.

Actual bottle from our inventory is pictured. These bottles are in excellent condition, from their original case and all fills are into the neck. All bottles are as good or better than the bottle pictured.

Wine Advocate

There are 1,200 cases of the light gold-colored 1998 Chardonnay Mon Plaisir. This full-bodied, honeyed, heady, powerful, densely concentrated effort includes flamboyant apricot/peach notes in addition to outstanding concentration, depth and persistence. It should drink well for 5-6 years.

Score: 95. —Robert Parker, January 2000.

International Wine Cellar

Heady, perfumed aromas of orange and apricot marmalade, mint and spicy, toasty oak. Fat, lush and powerful, with more tropical flavors and more apparent alcohol. Faint lactic and licorice notes add complexity. Strong acidity frames and extends the fruit.

Score: 92. —Stephen Tanzer, May 2000.

Wine Spectator

Rich and creamy, with layers of concentrated fig, anise, nectarine, vanilla and pear flavors that are elegant and refined, turning complex and showing good length. Drink now through 2003. 1,154 cases made.

Score: 91. —James Laube, July 31, 2000.
